Within Walking Distance

Short Sands (North Side Of Nubble Light) – Short Sands Beach is a great family beach with a parking area, a playground, a bathhouse and some basketball courts. There are many gift shops and restaurants right near the beach.

York’s Wild Kingdom – Right near Short Sands. Amusements, rides and an animal park.

The Goldenrod Restaurant – Serving hotdogs, hamburgers, sandwiches and salads. Don’t forget to visit their world famous candy shop! (located right in the restaurant). The pride of the shop is delicious Goldenrod Kisses, saltwater taffy, which you can watch being made right in the shop window. They also have a fine selection of chocolates and all kinds of treats.

View Nubble Light House (Cape Neddick) – Built in 1879, Nubble Light is quite possible the most photographed lighthouse in the world. Free parking and coin operated binoculars available to watch the lobstermen and sailboats.

Dunne’s Ice Cream – Oh soooo tasty, located right around the corner from Nubble light which means it’s nearly right around the corner from us. Service through walk up windows.

Long Sands (South Side of Nubble Light) – This is about a mile south of where we are, some folks actually walk there, other prefer to drive. Long Sands Beach has over a mile and a half of sandy beach. Parking, a bathhouse and some restaurants.
